Overview

Blood Donors Forum in colleges encourages and motivates voluntary blood donation among the students and staff of the college. Voluntary unpaid donors are the foundation of a safe blood supply that saves millions of human beings from the jaws of untimely death. Blood collected from voluntary donors is stored at blood banks and it will be readily made available to needed patients on a replacement basis. The active participation of a forum in our college and its volunteers will benefit the college as well as the community. The forum can also create awareness regarding the need for blood donation and can eradicate misconceptions regarding the same.Thereby it ensures the students' social commitment to help save the lives of other fellow being and will surely contribute to a student’s holistic development as a responsible citizen.

Objectives

  1. To generate awareness, particularly among the youngsters towards the importance of donating blood as a sacred humanitarian service and to provide information and guidance on the vital role of voluntary blood donors in assuring the availability of stable and sufficient supplies of safe blood for transfusion.
  2. To collaborate with nearby blood banks so as to enable quick availability at emergency situation and achieve a sustainable and continuous supply of blood for the needy through 100% Voluntary Non-remunerative blood donation by the students.
  3. Maintaining a proper volunteer directory of students as well as teaching and non teaching staffs so as to make the functioning smoother and faster which will create and nurture a safe, sustainable volunteer donor base, as well as provide exceptional donor service and care.
  4. Conducting awareness programs, blood donation drive etc so as to generate awareness as well as to remove misconceptions regarding the same and to Create a voluntary blood donation culture by educating, motivating, and recruiting new blood donors. Thereby making the students aware of the need of humanitarian services and encourage them to become responsible citizens to the society.
