Overview

AALC with the aim of creating a good environment free from any sexual harassment or gender-based discrimination faced by women employees and students, had constituted the Women’s Grievance Cell. The cell is meant to safeguard and promote well-being of all women employees as well as students.

Objectives

Women’s Grievance Cell has been constituted to prevent sexual harassment against women employees as well as girl students. Its activities aim and create awareness among everyone regarding the acts against women and its consequences. The cell’s activities are sensitive in nature while dealing with the complaints forwarded to it by the women who may be the aggrieved or the victims. Immediate enquiries, investigation, and immediate actions are to be taken by the women’s grievance cell, after giving necessary suggestions and recommendations to the Principal, the head of the institution. The cell not only ensures the prevention of occurrence of harassment /discrimination but also recommends suggestions or punishment.

Functions

  1. The cell receives complaints directly addressed to the women’s grievance cell or complaints forwarded to the cell by the head of the institution. 
  2. On receiving complaints, the cell intimates it to the head of the institution, and upon approval given by the head of the institution, enquiry proceedings will be done.
  3. During enquiry proceedings, statements from both the parties (complainants & opposite party) and witnesses of the parties will be taken. All statements will be recorded in written form and will be kept confidential. 
  4. After the proceedings, a report will be prepared by the enquiry committee mentioning the findings and recommendations on decisions to be taken regarding the issues. And the report will be finally submitted to the Principal for further decisions or actions to be taken.

The Women’s Grievance Cell was constituted with the following members:
