Internal Assessment

Internal assessment for each subject in a semester is provided out of Twenty-Five, as follows:

  1. Internal Examination – 10 Marks
  2. Assignment – 5 Marks
  3. Presentation – 5 Marks
  4. Attendance – 5 Marks

Attendance Marks is provided as follows:

  • 75% - 79% = 1 Mark
  • 80% - 84% = 2 Marks
  • 85% - 89% = 3 Marks
  • 90% - 95% = 4 Marks
  • 95% and above = 5 Marks

Three internal examinations will be conducted for each subject in a semester, after scheduling a timetable for all the classes. It aims at providing opportunities for improvement to the students. The concerned subject teacher will be the one who awards internal marks assessing the performance and attendance of the student. Results will be published in one week, and redressals for grievances are done at the first-hand level by the teachers. 

One assignment topic for each subject will be provided to the students by the concerned faculty. Presentations will be taken during class hours, without interrupting the syllabus completion. Both these shall be submitted as per the directions given by the concerned faculty.

End Semester Exams

Semester examinations notified and conducted by the University are facilitated by the institution’s examination cell. Effective and smooth conducting of the examinations is ensured by the cell’s activities. Candidates must secure 50% as aggregate to get pass marks for the semester examination out of which 40% for the external examination and 10% for the internal examination.

Instructions regarding examinations

  1. No candidate should be admitted to the Examination Hall unless he/she produces the hall ticket issued to him/her or the Chief Superintendent otherwise satisfies his eligibility and identity.
  2. The Hall-Tickets of all candidates should be inspected during the course of the first session of the examination. Candidates may also be asked to produce these documents on all days of the examination.
  3. Candidates should take their places in the Examination Hall at least five minutes before the time fixed for the examination. Candidates presenting themselves more than half an hour after the appointed time should not be admitted.
  4. Strict Silence must be maintained in the examination Hall.
  5. Candidates are directed not to ask questions of any kind during the examinations. Superintendents are instructed to refuse to answer any inquiries whatsoever, relating to the question papers, whether in explanation of the meaning or in correction of typographical errors. Candidates are not allowed to write on the question papers supplied to them.
  6. Supervision must be very strict.
  7. (a) Candidates are not allowed the use of books of any kind. The person found in possession of or copying from any book or portion of a book, manuscript or paper of any description, or communicating with any persons outside the examination room will be treated as guilty of malpractice.
    Any candidate detected of malpractice in the University examination hall should not be permitted to sit for the remaining examinations, if the Chief Superintendent is prima facie satisfied about the guilt of the candidate. All such cases should be reported to the Controller of Examinations, as soon as they are detected. Statements may be got recorded from such candidates and the Assistant Superintendents concerned and arrangements for conducting enquiry according to rules should be made expeditiously.
  8. (a) Candidates are not allowed to exceed the prescribed time assigned to each paper.
    (b) All books, notebooks, manuscripts, etc. brought by the candidates should be placed outside the examination hall. This instruction shall be strictly enforced.
    (c) Mobile phones in any mode are not permitted in the Examination Hall.
    (d) Chief Superintendents are directed to release the seized mobile phones from the students, if any after obtaining receipts from the candidate and report the matter to the University along with details of other malpractices. The mobile phones shall be released only on production of pay for Rs. 1000/- (Rs. Thousand only) through e-payment.

Exam Rules

  1. No student will be permitted to apply or register for the semester examinations conducted by the University unless he/ she obtains not less than 75% of the attendance, and no fee dues. 
  2. University examinations of each semester will be conducted at the end of each semester as notified by the University. Each paper carries 75 marks for the written examination and 25 marks for the internal examination.
  3. External viva-voce examinations for final year UG and PG courses shall be conducted by the Board of Examiners constituted by the university.
